Pierce looking to have a Myrtle Beach Time
Brandon Pierce is looking for big things in Myrtle Beach after coming off a ninth place finish with a twelfth place start in the Valley Star Credit Union 300, in his second attempt; and a twelfth place finish in his first CARS tour start at South Boston. With all this momentum, he is looking forward to this weekend. As a racer he is excited to go to a different track and see how they can run.
“As far as outlook, every time you go to the track you want to win; with that being said, I know that this race is going to be tough because Myrtle Beach is such an abrasive track. I know my guys at Nelson Motorsports will bring me a great piece of equipment. We tested there a few weeks back and had a successful test. Our goal is to hopefully lock ourselves in by qualifying in the top 16 and avoid having to run a heat race. Once the race starts we are just going to be smart and stay out of trouble, in hopes of putting ourselves in a position to be there at the end.”
Brandon is still looking for his first win in Late Model Stock cars. He finished 5th at South Boston in points, but would have ended up 3rd if they had ran the last race of the year. They chose not to run the last race because they didn’t want to chance having any issues with Martinsville being the next weekend. This is just his second full time season and they have had a lot of good finishes. They have been in contention for wins, but haven’t pulled it off yet. He would love his first win be in the Myrtle Beach 400 .
